Cole Mann – Brian Stewart Race Series Race #4 – Shannonville Motor Speedway – Shannonville, Ontario, Canada – July 30 – August 3, 2008

8/5/08 – (Hewitt, NJ) – This past weekend Cole Mann was given the opportunity to do an arrive and drive for SQ Motorsports/3-S Go Karts International at the 4th round of the Canadian Racing Series, The Brian Stewart Race Series.

SQ Motorsports/3-S Go Karts International is the importer of the new Kart called the SQ Evolution. Carlos Goncalves and Enzo Chiovitti contacted Cole and offered him this opportunity.

Cole was going to be competing in the TaG class in the new chassis powered by the motor they are now importing called the Cheetah.

Fortunately for Cole there were 2 practice days. He was able to learn the track, learn the new chassis and learn the new motor. Unfortunately for Cole the minute he arrived in Canada he came down with a fever, only to find out at the end of the week that he had strept throat!

On race day Cole managed to qualify 9th out of a field of 26. In the Pre-Final the Kart did not have the right gearing and set up and he slipped back to 13th position. Before the final gearing changes were made along with some Chassis adjustments. The first turn on the start is extremely tight and you almost have to go through single file. Cole was not in the line that got going first and slipped back to about 20th position. But from that point on he did nothing but move forward in the 20 lap race. Making some awesome passes he quickly moved his way up to the front. By lap 15 he would find himself in 3rd spot, by making an incredible 3 wide pass going down the straight into the tight first turn. For the remainder of the race he found himself in a great battle with 4th and 5th position. By the end of the 20 lap race he would end up in 5th spot! The team was extremely pleased with his results, especially since he was running a high fever, learning a new kart, track and motor.

They have given Cole a brand new Kart to take home and test here in the states along with spare frames to have on hand.

Cole will be heading back to Canada on Labor Day weekend to compete in Round 5 of the Brian Stewart Series. The next event will be held in Windsor, Ontario. This time it will be a street race.
